You're so fucking lucky?!
Do I believe in luck? Yes of course I do and I believe that every successful person benefits from a bit of it. Here’s the thing though, not everyone is born with luck. Some of us create it. You can’t control who your parents are or whether or not you win the lottery but you can control your environment and your mindset.
Who are you surrounding yourself with? Are they people that you aspire to be like or are they people who are dragging you down? Even better, are they people that have bigger dreams than you? The people you surround yourself with should be people that have more of what you want than you do. That doesn’t have to be money. It can be freedom, education, good family life, etc. You will model yourself after the people that you spend the most time with. They will impart knowledge to you. They will give you ideas on how to achieve what they’ve achieved. That’s how you create a “lucky” environment. Surround yourself with people who are what you aspire to be. The more you draw to them, the more they will be drawn to you. And with that comes the knowledge and opportunity to accomplish what they have. Don’t do it in a way that uses people. Find people with whom you genuinely want to build a friendship and go from there. In addition, don’t be afraid to ask for mentorship. Most people love to tell you about themselves, what they’ve accomplished, and how they accomplished it. Speak up and ask for what you want.
Read, learn, act, read, learn, act, rinse, repeat. Gain as much knowledge as you can. As you do, your mind will open. You will learn that you are more capable than you ever thought possible. As you grow in knowledge and positivity, doors will open for you. The kind of people that you want to be around and the kind of opportunities that you want are drawn to positivity, openness, and confidence. The more you focus on what you CAN do as opposed to what you can’t do, the more opportunity will find you. It’s a compound effect. What you go looking for, you will find, and it will find you.
So keep your head up, go create some luck. You are the average of the 5 people that you spend the most time with. Remember also that the things you spend the most time thinking about will undoubtedly become your reality. How will you choose to create a little fucking luck in your life today?
